The largest harbour festival in the world from 7 to 9 May 2010

From 7 to 9 May, Hamburg is celebrating the largest harbour festival in the world. Over three days, the 821st HARBOUR BIRTHDAY HAMBURG will offer innumerable attractions on the water, on land and in the air. Each year, more than a million visitors from Germany and abroad come to this maritime folk festival of superlatives. A diverse programme on the entire event premises, from the Kehrwiederspitze up to the fish auction hall, as well as in the Speicherstadt, in HafenCity and in the museum harbour Oevelgönne, offers fun and entertainment for the entire family.

At the heart of the HARBOUR BIRTHDAY HAMBURG is the water programme, in which the more than 300 floating guests from all areas of maritime life will take part. Traditional highlights are the entry and departure parade, the tugboat ballet, which is unique worldwide, on Saturday and the numerous open-ship activities.

On land, around 500 concessionaires offer culinary delights, joining-in activities for big and small, numerous stages with live acts and good entertainment with a maritime flair, on the 3.5-kilometre-long harbour mile, from the Kehrwiederspitze as far as the Old Elb Tunnel.
